Art of Ageing
First Art of Ageing premiere in Germany
Issue No. 3

Die Uhr tickt / Pe ceas / The Clock is ticking
German premiere on October 3
Written by Peca Stefan
Directed by Malte C. Lachmann

After the opening on September 7th at the Teatrul National Timisoara, the German premiere of "The Clock is ticking" takes place on October 3rd at the Staatstheater Karlsruhe with the same international cast. But this is where the ressemblances end, as each performance is a new premiere. During 60 minutes only, the audience is asked to decide democratically the content of each scene by answering questions about ageing. "The Clock is ticking - 60 minutes older" tries - yes, through laughter, unexpected lines, acidly, frankly, sometimes hesitantly, in German, Romanian, English, spoken, sung, recited, whispered or shouted - to raise questions, and even give answers. Thus, everyone in the room has the chance to age better for the next 60 minutes.
