ETC European Theatre Academy in Avignon
International artistic collaboration & management in theatre

4 - 8 July 2015, Festival d’Avignon
Theatre in Europe has internationalized. Though, it remains in its concept, its choices on playwrights and texts, and its relation with its public and actors very much linked to national and local territory and references. In a number of countries, conditions for production and financing have become year by year more complex, driving artists, theatre companies and theatres to work continuously more internationally.
The European Theatre Convention initiates in 2015 for the first time during the Festival d'Avignon, the ETC European Theatre Academy. It becomes for four days a working space of reflection and promotion of good practices of exchanges on international collaboration experiences, on conditions for touring activities and the consequences it has on artistic choices, on artists and technicians, bringing into discussion collaboration models as well as different aspects of social and legal regulations, taxation on European level, and last but not least on funding schemes put in place by the European commission to support cooperation projects. On the program: masterclasses, encounters and talks with artists and experts, visit of festival performances and much more. For the detailed program of the Academy and more information click
