TYPISCH JENNY!

an experiment with Class 8c from Waldblick secondary school Freital-Niederhäslich

Premiere: May 11, 2018

At school, we have been confronted with the evaluations and judgments of our teachers and classmates for years, and assigned to our roles. In TYPISCH JENNY! the students of an eighth grade ask themselves: How do I become a class clown, a nerd, a beau, a wallflower? Do I miss out on the development of my talents and interests because they do not comply with the pictures and expectations of me? How can I break out of this circle?

Director: Joanna Praml

 BILDER OHNE LILA

views of the blind and visually impaired citizens of Dresden

Premiere: September 14, 2018

In BILDER OHNE LILA the blind take the spotlight and give us insights into their world. They reveal moments from the gallery of their memories. How do they see themselves, and how do they want to be seen? How does eyesight relate to truth and lies, deception and hiding, and what does the protagonist of Max Frisch's novel MEIN NAME SEI GANTENBEIN have to do with it?

Director: Adrian Figueroa

DIE VERWANDLUNG

after the story of Franz Kafka

Premiere: December 8, 2018

In our production we link Kafka's famous tale of 1912, which tells the story of the young anti-hero Gregor Samsa who one morning finds himself "transformed into a monstrous vermin," with the experiences of young people. In Kafka Gregor finds pleasure in his new identity, yet the disgusting beetle is isolated and eventually removed by his family. How pleasurable and how painful is growing up for you? And how do you imagine the end of your personal transformation?

FRÜHER WAR ALLES

by Dirk Laucke

Premiere: March 3, 2019

How have Freitaler citizens experienced and influenced the last decades? What has changed in the 30 years since the german reunification, in the factory and in living together with one another? Through conversations, encounters and research, the dramatist Dirk Laucke, born in Saxony, approaches the recent history of Freital as well as the stories of his inhabitants, who are invited onto the stage in this multi-generational project.

Director: Jan Gehler

ICH BIN MUSLIMA- HABEN SIE FRAGEN?

Premiere: April 14, 2019

Gender issues are discussed worldwide. In the preoccupation with Islam, the role of women is one of the most emotional issues that surround us. What does it mean to be a Muslim, and what does it mean for the life here in Germany? What do Christian and Muslim values have in common and how do they differ from one another? Muslim citizens of Dresden speak for themselves. Here in Dresden. On a stage.

Director: Martina von Boxen

DEMOKRATIE VON UNTEN

a staged reading of the Bürgerbühne

Premiere: June 2, 2019

We want to get out. We are staying here. No violence. We are the people. We are a people! With these five demo sayings the history of a few weeks in Dresden in autumn 1989 can be summarized retrospectively. Thousands of people demonstrated for various reasons. We ask people who were there. We ask what they regret and what they are proud of - and what it all has to do with us today.
