Oslo, 7-10 June 2018

ETC International Theatre Conference & General Assembly

European Theatre Lab: Drama goes digital – European Theatre Showcase

hosted by and at Det Norske Teatret Oslo/Norway
7 – 10 June 2018

The conference will present new digital technologies resulting from the two year project “European Theatre Lab: Drama goes digital”. The programme aims at discussing the different approaches to high-tech and low-tech, their possible connections and future developments as well as the limits of digitalisation within theatre. Taking place during the “Heddadagene” Festival, the conference will also explore contemporary Norwegian theatre aesthetics, topics and developments.

Artistic debates, keynote speeches by international experts, workshops and a space for networking with peers and colleagues from all over Europe, as well as a joint session with the European Music Council and performances in the frame of the “Heddadagene” Festival characterise the programme of the next ETC International Theatre Conference in Oslo.

Involving seven of ETC’s member theatres, the “European Theatre Lab” (ETL) is Europe’s first think tank devoted to researching a digital strategy for theatre. It was initiated by the European Theatre Convention and co-funded by Creative Europe. The ETC International Theatre Conference will also host the showcase of the creative productions of the ETL presenting the productions “Den siste kongsfesten”, “Stage Your City” and “IDIOMATIC/Dub It: One Voice, Many Languages”.

Upon invitation only - registration are closed since 3 May 2018.
